NITE TREK   2006

MAY 26, 27 2006

Seacrest Camp Oliver

WHAT IS NITE TREK?

Nite Trek is a great joint experience of Guiding & Scouting in the South Okanagan: a night hike for all Rangers, Pathfinders, Guides, Venturers, Scouts, and 9-year-old Cubs (by Dec 31 of the previous year).

A course of approximately 3k is set up with various stations run by Guiders, Scouters, and parents, each one with a different challenge. The Guides and Scouts divide themselves into teams and are given points at each station depending on how well they perform. In the morning, prizes are awarded.

This is a great hike and loads of fun, but it does take a lot of personnel to make it the success it has been in the past. Each participating Unit/Section must come prepared to operate at least one station. If you are bringing more than 16 Trekkers, you will be required to supply a second station. If you have lots of interested parents or leaders, you are more than welcome to set up more stations.

DATE: last full weekend in May

PLACE: Secrest Camp, Oliver

FEE: TBD per Trekker

CRESTS: A Nite Trek crest will be given to every registered Trekker.

Trekkers attending for the second or more years will receive a "Star."

Crests for adults will be available for sale.
